Repatriate property sale proceeds from Vietnam: prepare your money trail
Build a preparation plan for money entering Vietnam, rent, or sale proceeds leaving Vietnam. Choose your income source and track documents without sharing your identity.
This is a preparation aid. It does not establish ownership, account eligibility, tax liability or permission to remit. Your Vietnam bank must confirm the documents for your circumstances; no checklist here is sufficient for every bank.
1. Choose your situation
Enter a bank quote yourself. Blank means unknown. No total or FX estimate: the shared VND/≈USD module is not integrated into this V3 baseline. Ask your bank for its FX quote and date.
2. Your next actions
3. Document preparation
Statuses describe your preparation, not bank acceptance. Choices stay in this tab’s memory and reset when reloaded. Do not enter names, passport numbers, nationality or bank details. No uploads or account API.
Ask your Vietnam bank before moving money
- Which account type can I open for my circumstances, and which identity/stay checks must be completed at your Vietnam branch?
- Which documents connect the original source, property payment, rental or sale income and tax records? Which originals or certified translations do you need?
- What FX rate, spread, SWIFT charge, intermediary deduction and receiving fee apply? Which currency and beneficiary account can receive it? What happens on rejection or return?
- What tax reporting remains in Vietnam and in my country of tax residence? Ask the relevant tax authority; do not infer tax residence from a visa.
Entry, signing and stay are separate checks
Check entry requirements at the official portal before travel. Ask the notary or receiving authority whether you must attend in person and whether it accepts your proposed power of attorney, translation or certification. Buying a home does not itself grant a visa or temporary residence card (TRC). A visa does not establish a right to buy property or tax residence.

Integration pending: the original foreign-ownership/procedure tools, shared FX module and glossary are absent from this V3 baseline. No replacement legal tree, currency rate or procedural PDF is generated. This page prints a money-document worksheet, not the purchase procedure checklist.
